Metal-Expo’2012: Sustainable Growth

Metal-Expo’2012, 18th International Industrial Exhibition will be held on November 13-16 in halls 69 and 75, The All-Russia Exhibition Center fairgrounds, Moscow. More than 700 companies from 35 world countries will exhibit the whole rage of ferrous and non-ferrous products, the most state-of-the-art equipment and modern technologies while more than 30 000 users of ferrous and non-ferrous products from various industries including construction, power and engineering complex, transportation and logistics, machine-building etc. will visit the event.

This major event including the exhibition and a business forum will bring together leading steel producers, tubes and pipes manufacturers, non-ferrous metals processing plants, aluminium rolled products manufacturers, constructors, machine-builders, oil and gas producers as well as producers from many more industries. 18 segments of the steel industry will compliment 3 separate expositions including MetallStroyForum’2012, Exhibition for Steel Products and Structures for Construction, MetallurgMash’2012, Exhibition for Equipment and Technologies for Steel Industry and Metalworking, and MetallTransLogistik’2012, Exhibition for Transportation and Logistics for Mining and Metallurgical Complex.

Metal-Expo international industrial forum will grow considerably in 2012 in the number of exhibitors as well as visitors “Russia accessing WTO will help minimize the customs barriers facilitating international trade. It will also stimulate investments and imports of products and technologies into Russia, while Metal-Expo as a business platform will become a channel to increase competition due to international players coming to the Russian market. Russia joining WTO will also help launch large-scale projects in the steel and mining and industries for Russia has all the conditions for setting up high-tech productions including big raw material deposits and well-trained professionals”, stated A. Romanov, Co-Chairman of Metal-Expo Organizing Committee.

Leading steel corporations, steel producers, equipment manufacturers, providers of engineering solutions and big steel traders from all over the world will participate in Metal-Expo’2012.Over its 18-year history Metal-Expo has become the main business platform for steel producers and users,  and a key industrial event with the participation of such steel industry leaders as, MMK, Severstal, NLMK, Evraz Group, Metalloinvest, Mechel, RT-Metallurgy, major tubes producers including: TMK, OMK, ChTPZ, wire mesh manufacturers: Severstal-Metiz, MMK-Metiz, Beloretsk Steel Plant, leading non-ferrous producers: RUSAL, UMMC-Holding, VSMPO-Avisma Corporation, Russian Copper Company, KUMZ,Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant, as well as steel producers from the CIS including: Metinvest-Holding, Belorussian Steel Works, Dneprospetsstal, Interpipe, Centravis, NKMZ, Dneprotechservis, etc., such international corporations as ArcelorMittal, Outokumpu, Ruukki, Danieli, VALLOUREC & MANNESMANN TUBES,  Marcegaglia, SMS Group, RHI, Oto Mills,  Vesuvius, PU.MA, Liebherr, Robur, as well as companies from South-East Asia.More than 200 international companies arranged their expositions at the last year’s exhibition. The biggest exposition was from Germany (42 companies), China ranked second with 30 stands, while Italy ranked third (25 stands). According to visitors registration database representatives from 61 countries visited the event in 2011. The biggest number of visitors came from the CIS: Ukraine, Belorussia, Kazakhstan and all the former USSR republics, while the majority of international visitors came from Germany, Austria, Italy and 25 more European countries. Professionals from such exotic for Russia countries as Singapore, Syria, Thailand, Taiwan, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Mexico Australia and many more were registered among Metal-Expo’2011 visitors as well. The number of exhibitors and visitors of the complex of international industrial exhibitions for steel products for construction, machine-building, and power & engineering complex, equipment for the steel industry, as well as transportation and logistics for mining & metallurgical complex will grow in 2012. Around 400 professionals will be working on the stands during the exhibition. According to independent auditing outlook 53% account of Metal-Expo visitors account for top-managers and decision makers. This fact makes the exhibition one of the few events visited by company leaders. The event provided a good opportunity to meet business partners, find new sales markets, discuss ways of cooperation, and sign agreements on raw materials, equipment and steel products purchase. A number of the largest Russian steel corporations including Rostekhnologii, Severstal, Evraz Group, TMK, OMK etc. arrange meeting with their distributors at the exhibition.

In the recent years Metal-Expo has become one of mail business platforms for finding consolidated solutions in the steel industry: a coordinating workshop of The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation annually held at the exhibition gave state officials and steel producers an opportunity to discuss the most pressing issues of the industry. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation will also hold at Metal-Expo’2012 a workshop on carrying out a program on mastering new types of products and improving quality of products for the automotive industry. Russian Union of Metal and Steel Suppliers will hold meeting on issues of development of aluminium products manufacture and use in Russia.

The total of more than business events will be held during Metal-Expo’2012. Among them are; Russian Metal and Steel Market conference, Zinc: Corrosion Protection seminar, Steel in Construction: Present and Future round table, New Promising Materials, Equipment and Technologies, Railway Delivery of Mining and Smelting Cargoes of Russia, Contemporary Technologies in Non-Ferrous Products Manufacture and Processing, IT for Steel Enterprises and many more. The business program of the exhibition provides all the market participants a good opportunity to discuss the latest trends in the steel market.

The Main Event in the Russian Steel Industry contest held at Metal-Expo aims at promoting innovative solutions in the industry. In addition to that, the best developments of innovative technologies and best solutions for implementation of steel and aluminium in construction are awarded Metal-Expo gold and silver medals. Metal-Expo also hosts Future is Decided Now, an annual festival for students and post-graduates of steel institutions and Best of the Best, a job fair for talented students. The key event of the students’ festival becomes awarding winners of a contest among young scientists established by Metal-Expo.
