Metal-Expo’2021: Three Most Busy Days!
Metal-Expo’2021, the 27th International Industrial Exhibition was held on November 11-13 at Expocentre Fairgrounds, Moscow, Russia. More than 450 steel companies exhibited at the event, some 3k steel industry professionals attended to their stands while more than 17k visitors came to visit the exhibition.
Leading steel companies had a perfect chance to meet with their partners on Metal-Expo platform. Despite the COVID-19 restrictions including mandatory QR codes to visit the event, the majority of exhibitors pointed out visitors’ professionalism and high-driving events held in parallel to the exhibition. Steel producers and end-users used this good opportunity to meet face to face, share the best practices, and know the most state-of-the-art solutions and products exhibited on the stands.
Leading steel and engineering companies as well as steel structures manufacturers among them: MMK, TMK, Severstal, OMK, NLMK, Metalloinvest, Novostal-M, UMMC, Zagorsk Pipe Plant, IMH, TEMPO, Uraltrubprom, Nizhne-Vonzhskiy Trubny Zavod, Ashinskiy Metallurgical Works, ELECTROSTAL Metallurgical Plant, Zlatoust Metallurgical Works, Aluminium Metallurg Rus, VSMPO-AVISMA, Stupino Metallurgical Company, Akron Holding, MMK-METIZ, Motovilikha,Ruspolymet Group, Severstal-Metiz, and many more arranged large expositions at Metal-Expo’2021. International steel producers and equipment manufacturers from 25 world countries among them ArcelorMittal, Marcegaglia, Danieli, Thyssenkrupp AG, Mannesmann Stainless Tubes, SMS group, Vernet Behringer, Terex Deutschland, Amada, Dango & Dienenthal, RHI Magnesita, TENOVA, FAGOR, Fives Group, Centravis, Metallinvest, BSW, NKMZ, Aktobe Rail and Section Works, Dneprotyazhmash, Tashkent Metallurgical Plant and many more came to Metal-Expo’2021 to establish and intensify cooperation in the Russian market.
During the three days, on 11-13 November from 10.00 to 20.00 hrs steel producers and end-users from many world countries and every region of Russia were discussing ways of cooperation, summing up interim results, making plans for the nearest futures, and signing cooperation contracts for 2022. Thus, P. Shilyaev, General Manager, MMK signed a cooperation agreement with an automotive company and a memorandum of understanding with Danieli during Metal-Expo’2021. O. Krestinin, Director for Sales, Metalloinvest, awarded the suppliers topping the rating based on UN principles. TMK and IRE-Plus signed a program on joint development and implementation of laser technologies for tubular products manufacture at TMK facilities. E. Kravchenko, Director for Regional Sales, TMK stated: “Metal-Expo is important for TMK’s business: we sum up results and make cooperation plans for the next year at the exhibition.” TMK gathered together its 150 dealers and end-users to tell them about a new sales policy at Metal-Expo’2021.
Metprom Group was awarded in the nomination the Main Event in the Russian Steel Industry’2021 for finishing construction of steel plants in Uzbekistan and Belarus at the Official Opening Ceremony of Metal-Expo’2021.
Winners in nomination for the most prominent achievements in ferrous and non-ferrous industries, equipment manufacture, and solutions development were awarded 14 gold and 16 silver medals at New Materials, Equipment and Solutions conference on November 12.
Some new brand-names were presented at Metal-Expo’2021: CYBERSTEEL, a stainless tubes manufacturer exhibited for the first time at Metal-Expo, Rosatom’s fuel company TVEL, a Metal-Expo’2021 official partner presented its products line for the steel industry etc.
A meeting of the Steel Industry Coordination Council by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russia Federation, Zinc: Corrosion Protection, seminar, a roundtable on digitalization of the steel industry, meetings of Steel Construction Development Association, meetings on the green metallurgy and steel industry sustainable development, a meeting of a work group by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation on implementation of the interregional program on improvement of quality of steel products for the automotive industry and many more events on the most pressing problems of the industry were held in parallel to Metal-Expo’2021.
The first two days, November 11 and 12 were the busiest. Even Saturday, November 13 was hard-driving: more than 70 high school students participated in Future is Decided Today seminar and a young scientists’ awarding ceremony, more than 70 marketing experts took part in panel discussions held during the exhibition, some 30 pre-coated steels producers participated in a seminar on pre-coated and galvanized rolled products, some 20 professionals from Severstal, MMK, TMK, IMH, Ruspolyment, BSW, etc. attended Corporate Communications in the Steel Industry conference etc.
Steel industry professionals discussed the most pressing problems of the steel, construction, transportation etc industries at conferences, seminars and roundtables held at Metal-Expo’2021 platform, met with their partners and sub-contractors, shared the best practices, and signed cooperation agreements. A. Romanov, Chairman of Metal-Expo Organizing Committee summed up: “The Russian and global steel markets suffer volatility in 2021.The steel industry is changing drastically. Under such conditions it is extremely important to meet with partners and end-users to receive the best synergy effect as a result of collaboration with contractors”.
Metal-Expo’2022, the 28th International Industrial Exhibition is underway. The Metal-Expo team, future exhibitors and visitors hope that next year will see less COVID-19 restrictions, borders will open and many international companies will attend the event as before.
