Currently, detailed event program is being developed by the organizing committee of Metal-Expo, which includes industry unions and associations, as well as research organizations. Over the course of four days, thousands of business and informal meetings and negotiations will take place at the exhibition venue, allowing contractors to finalize agreements on cooperation, sign promising contracts, and arrange for the supply of raw materials, equipment, components, and finished products all in one place at the same time. Major metallurgical groups in the country will hold separate corporate events in Saint Petersburg with their distributors, clients, and partners. Direct contact between producers, suppliers, and consumers, the demonstration of industry innovations, the exchange of experiences and best practices, and discussions on promising strategies, service programs, and sales models will be important factors for the sustainable development of the metallurgical complex and related industries.
Over the past 30 years, Metal-Expo has established itself as an effective platform for addressing the full spectrum of issues related to conducting metallurgical business. Undoubtedly, this trend will continue in Saint Petersburg, one of the centers of Russian metallurgy. The forum will be attended by decision-makers involved in procurement and sales of products. Audit data from the exhibition indicates that general and executive directors, as well as company presidents, account for 18% of visitors. Technical, commercial, and financial directors, along with procurement and sales directors, make up over 9% of the total number of guests. Additionally, the number of deputy directors and managers at senior and middle levels exceeds 30% of the target audience of Metal-Expo. A significant part of the audience consists of chief engineers, metallurgists, energy specialists, designers, mechanics, welders, accountants, industry and corporate analysts, marketers, public relations directors, and those involved with government relations, as well as other specialized professionals.
In 2025, the Russian metallurgical industry faces a number of important tasks, including the commissioning of additional production capacities planned in investment programs, the development of new steel grades, the expansion of high value-added product output, the import substitution of equipment and components, and the search for new sales niches and export directions. In a context where production costs are rising, price conditions are unstable, and consumption capacity is decreasing, the need for professional communication is only growing. "The industry is experiencing consolidation, and the market configuration is changing significantly. This affects corporate development plans and market position retention, procurement practices, and sales strategies, as well as the overall business management policy. Thus, there is an acute demand for discussions on new vectors of industry movement," commented A. Efimov, General Director of LLC Metal-Expo, on the current situation.
