Metal-Expo'2023: from Competition to Partnership

Metal-Expo'2023, the 29th International Industrial Exhibition (November 7-10, Expocentre Fairgrounds, Moscow, Russia) will exhibit a whole range of ferrous and non-ferrous products, as well as modern machinery and solutions. The Russian steel sector will demonstrate its potential to metal-consuming industries, its key partners to create the basis of the real sector of the national economy.

The Russian steel industry nowadays faces an exciting challenge: development of a national resource base, finding alternative suppliers of materials and new types of steel products and establishing competence centers as part of the import substitution program and implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects. Leading steel and engineering companies, steel structure, tube, hardware and non-ferrous producers, as well as steel products suppliers and steel service centers, among them MMK, TMK, Severstal, OMK, NLMK, Metalloinvest, EVRAZ, Mechel, Novostal-M, UMMC, Tulachermet-Steel, AEM-Special Steels, TEMPO, Uraltrubprom, Ural Steel, NVTZ, UMK-Steel, Ashinsky Steel Plant, Zlatoust Steel Plant, Aluminum Metallurg Rus, VSMPO-AVISMA, KUMZ, SMK, Akron Holding Group, CZP, MMK-Metiz, Severstal-Metiz, EZTM, TVEL, Metallinvest, Belarusian Metallurgical Plant and many more will showcase their potential in this strategic direction at Metal-Expo'2023.

Metal-Expo’2023 will be held in three spacious halls at Expocentre Fairgrounds: halls 2 and 8 will host expositions of leading ferrous and non-ferrous producers, while hall 3 will be dedicated to MetallurgMash, an exposition of leading producers and suppliers of machinery and steel industry solutions. Large-scale projects requiring all types of machinery and equipment are currently implemented in the Russian steel industry, hence investments in metalworking and steel service centers increase making promotion of machinery and accessories come into the picture.

Operation of the steel producer faces many challenges: changes in export flows and logistics, changes in supply and procurement chains, changes in tariff settings and taxation, investment plans and product lines adjustments, a need for seeking new market niches and an environmental crackdown. The market transforms considerably converging producers and traders and changing business schemes.

“The current situation makes steel companies study a competitive landscape in great detail, monitor and analyze market trends to maintain business sustainability and be able to make quick decisions. To meet the current challenges, market players needs to develop industrial partnerships and customer communities, work out and implement metal consumption incentive programs in cooperation with related sectors of the economy,” stated Alexey Efimov, General Manager of Metal-Expo'2023. “The extensive congress program of the Metal Week in Moscow will facilitate such a cross-sector dialogue. The events held in parallel with the exhibition will provide industry professionals a good opportunity to discuss prospects of development of various industries such as construction, energy complex and heavy engineering and present updated corporate strategies and investment projects.”

The congress program will consist of more than 50 conferences, seminars and round tables covering nearly all the steel industry issues, among them use of high-potential materials and machinery in the ferrous and non-ferrous industries, secondary resources, standardization of reinforced rolled stock, the market of galvanized and polymer coated products, new types of steel products for the automotive and medical industries, additive and 3D solutions, the steel structure market, the hardware industry, marketing in the steel industry, digital transformation, corporate communications etc. The congress program will additionally attract some 4k professionals from various steel-related industries: construction, fuel and energy complex, engineering, transportation and logistics.
