Metal-Expo'2011 finished ushering Metal-Expo'2012
The closing ceremony of Metal-Expo’2011 the 17th International Industrial Exhibition was held in Hall 75, The All-Russia Exhibition Center. A. Romanov, Co-Chairman of Metal-Expo Organizing Committee pointed out that the total of 650 exhibitors participated in the event and more than 200 international companies arranged their expositions at the exhibition. The biggest exposition (42 stands) was German, China ranked second with 30 stands, while Italy ranked third (25 stands).
The total of more than 4 thousand professionals and company leaders worked on stands during the 4 days of the exhibition while more than 30 thousand visitors attended the event. The busiest day was Wednesday, November 16 (more than 11 thousand visitors). According to preliminary estimates based on exhibitors’ questionnaire outlook, more than 90% of exhibitors are satisfied with the exhibition results in terms of establishing new contacts and making plans for 2012.
Some 60 different conferences, round tables, presentations and more than 10 competitions were held during the event. For the first time this year a competition for the Best Project in the Russian Steel Industry was held among the biggest steel producers. Among the winners were 4 projects: “Iron Ozone 32" (ChTPZ), MMK Cold Rolling Mill, Blast Furnace #7 (NLMK), and OMK Mill 5000.
Specialists were awarded some 50 gold and silver medals for scientific developments in the steel industry as well as mastering new types of products, equipment and technologies.
More than 30 winners of the competitions for The Best Sales Network, Stock and Steel Service Center in Russia were awarded on November 14.
Some 300 young scientists, students and post graduates were awarded prizes of 10 000 to 50 000 rubles for new scientific developments. This year a few steel companies decided to join the bonus fund to raise the prize to 150 000 rubles. Thus, the project will continue in 2012.
At the closing ceremony Metal-Expo Organizing Committee awarded exhibitors cups for the best expositions to encourage them to participate in the next years’ event on better and more beautiful expositions.
