Summing up meeting of the Organizing Committee of Metal-Expo was held in Moscow. Among other thing on the agenda members of the Committee (heads of unions, scientific and research institutions for the steel industry, heavy engineering and construction) shared opinions on the state of things in the steel industry and discussed trends in the development of the steel and steel-related industries. Despite the economical recession the last Metal-Expo figures are encouraging: 714 companies from 37 world countries exhibited in Metal-Expo’2013 while more than 30k professionals from the ferrous and non-ferrous industries, construction, heavy engineering, fuel and energy complex, transportation and logistics, metal and steel trading etc. visited the event. The number of countries the visitors represented increased as well. When quoting the statistics from the last Metal-Expo A. Romanov, Chairman of Metal-Expo Organizing Committee pointed out that many exhibitors liked the fact that the number of visitors had been more or less the same during the 4 days. Exhibitors also noted that due to the fact that this year more decision-makers, company leaders and top managers worked on the stands key customers visited their stands turning the exhibition into a perfect business platform. Yu. Raikov, Director General, Tsvetmetobraborka Institute stated that during the economic recession the exhibition was especially important for it provided a good opportunity to find new sales markets and know the latest market trends while V. Uglov, First Deputy Director General, Tsniichermet noted that innovations presented at Metal-Expo would help overcome the economic recession.
More than 50 events held during Metal-Expo’2013 covered nearly all the segment of the steel industry. This year for example the first titanium conference was held during the exhibition. Members of the Organizing Committee also worked out the general concept of Metal-Expo’2014, the 20th International Industrial Exhibition which, among other things, included extending the exposition arranging part of it on the second floor of hall 69 which was more popular among visitors as compared to the last few years. The whole range of ferrous and non-ferrous products, modern equipment and technologies will be exhibited at Metal-Expo’2014 on November 11-14, 2014. Many Metal-Expo’2013 exhibitors have already submitted space applications willing to participate in the forthcoming event on bigger spaces.
