Metallurgists present new production facilities and product types.
Notwithstanding the economic sanctions, the country is pursuing a robust investment strategy and developing competitive technologies. At the 30th anniversary International Industrial Exhibition Metal-Expo-2024, which will bring together leading companies in the metallurgical and related industries, new metallurgical facilities will be presented, including both those commissioned the day before and those currently under implementation.
By way of illustration, the Russian Stainless Company, which is currently engaged in the construction of a plant in the Volgograd Region for the production of special steels and stainless steel plates, will be in attendance at the event for the first time. EVRAZ Vanadium-Tula is currently undertaking the final stages of construction on a new facility in the Uzlovaya SEZ. Another SEZ, Titanium Valley, will soon be home to a new titanium alloys production facility. OMK and Ural Steel have commenced production of seamless pipes. Furthermore, Novotroitsk has installed an injection moulding machine (No. 273) and is planning to construct a wheel rolling mill. Metinvest Management Company has announced plans to launch a LDPE mill in Nizhny Tagil. A number of innovative projects are being implemented by GC Ruspolymet and other medium and small steel companies. Novostal-M Holding Company will soon commence construction of a rail rolling mill. Large-scale projects related to iron ore processing are being implemented by Severstal and Metalloinvest.
The substitution of metallurgical products and equipment with domestically produced alternatives is a key objective, with modern technological solutions, digitalisation, automation and robotisation being introduced into production. Russian metallurgy is expanding its production capabilities to include new steel grades for machine building and the oil and gas sector. It is also developing integrated engineering systems and increasing the output of products with unique characteristics and high added value. All new projects and additional product types will be presented from 29 October to 1 November as part of the jubilee forum of metallurgists in Moscow at Expocentre at Krasnaya Presnya. The most groundbreaking initiatives will be presented with gold and silver medals at the exhibition, as well as recognised within the framework of the 'Main Event of 2024 in Russian Metallurgy' contest.
To date, 840 companies have registered to participate in Metal Expo 2024, including 350 from China and 13 other countries. Despite the 30% growth in the exposition last year, the exhibition area will increase by a further 25% this year. We anticipate welcoming over 30,000 visitors from a range of industry sectors.
