Metal-Expo International Exhibition will grow by 20% in 2010 and the total of 24t sqm of the new hall 75 called Russia (The All-Russia Exhibition Center) will be occupies already by September. A. Romanov, Co-Chairman, Organizing Committee of Metal-Expo’2010 reported at the last Organizing Committee session that more than 600 companies from more than 25 countries will participate in Metal-Expo’2010 and more than 4.5k heads and professionals of steel companies and some 3-4k representatives of construction, machine-building etc. companies will take part in the program of events which will be held during the exhibition.
I. Malyshev, Head of Metallurgical Complex Department, Government of the Russian Federation said that the next session of the Governmental Committee for Development of the Russian Metal and Steel Industry moderated by I. Sechin, Vice-Prime Minister would be held on July 15-16 in Ekaterinburg and would be dedicated to innovations in the steel industry. The next session of Metal-Expo Organizing Committee will most likely be moderated by I. Sechin. In addition, I. Malyshev noted the efficiency of conducting the session of the Coordination Council of the Metallurgical Industry, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation at Metal-Expo.
V. Cherepov, Executive Vice-President, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs said that the Union would support Metal-Expo’2010 and MetallStroyForum’2010 in any way. V. Lavrischev, Head of Workshop for the Ferrous Industry, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs noted that the program of events during Metal-Expo would help systematize information on the most pressing problems and find new solutions.
V. Uglov, Deputy Director General, TSNIIChermet said that then we had rather the crisis of innovations than the economic crisis for old soviet technologies had become obsolete. According to V. Uglov, today companies invest in development of innovations no more than 5-10M rubles a tear which is far from enough. The only exception is MMK which pays much attention to this issue. Today MMK and TSNIIChermet fulfill a joint project on manufacture of sheets for the automotive industry with improved characteristics.
Jointly with the expositions of steel and machine-building companies MetallStroyForum’2010, the exposition of steel products for the construction sector will be arranged in hall 75. In this connection A. Dorofeev, Head of Department, Builders Association of Russia presented a preliminary program of Steel in Construction: Present and Future, 2d International Conference for Steel Structures Designers and Manufacturers.
Along with the construction industry, the Autumn Metal Week in Moscow will also focus on steel products for the fuel and energy complex as well as the automotive industry. V. Ryabkov, Deputy Director General, TSNIITMASH in this connection suggested organizing a round table on Steel Products for the Fuel and Energy Complex. Thus, the program of events during Metal-Expo’2010 will cover all the key segments of metal and steel products consumption allowing to study in details the demand of the major consumers.
The next session of the Organizing Committee of Metal-Expo’2010 is scheduled for September. During the next session, the members of the Organizing Committee will finalize Metal-Expo’2010 program of events.
The expositions of Metal-Expo’2010 will include the whole range of modern equipment for the metal and steel industries, all the types of metal and steel products, the most up-to-date technologies etc.
