Mechel is comprised of more than 20 production enterprises, producing coal, iron ore, steel, rolled products, ferroalloys, heat and electric power. All of the Group’s enterprises work within a single production chain – from raw materials to high value-added products. The Group also owns three trade ports, transport operators and sales and service networks. Mechel markets its products both domestically and internationally.
Mechel’s steel facilities are administered by Mechel-Steel Management OOO.The steel division includes Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant, Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant, Izhstal, Urals Stampings Plant, Vyartsilya Metal Products Plant, Mechel Nemunas, Bratsk Ferroalloy Plant and Kaslinsky Plant of Art Casting.
The business of Mechel’s steel segment includes manufacturing of rolled products from carbon steel and specialty steels, rolled flatsof stainless steel, shapes and sections, high value-added steel products, including hardware and stampings.
Mechel is Russia’s top producer of specialty steels and alloys with the widest product range, and is Russia’s fourth largest manufacturer of long rolls. Mechel is also one of Russia’s leading hardware producers.
The company’s strong position on the steel product market is secured by Mechel’s own extensive service and sales network. It includes over 80 facilities. It comprises Russian-based Mechel Service company as well as subsidiaries in the CIS member states, Western and Eastern Europe.
Mechel Service OOO is one of Russia’s most extensive steel trading networks. Currently, there are 54 Mechel Service warehouse facilities working in 39 Russia’s cities. Mechel Service owns 18 service centers for additional processing of rolled products. Mechel Service also offers delivery and shipment services.
