Volzhsky Abrasive Works, PJSC, being the largest producer of silicon carbide in Russia and in the world, produces grinding materials and abrasive tools on ceramic and bakelite bond, moulded refractories and castables from silicon carbide for the side lining of aluminum smelters, blast furnaces (lining of the cooling plates with silicon carbide bricks nitride bonded and sialon bonded), shaft furnaces for copper production, boilers, as well as refractories used in lining of chambers of incineration plants, production of ferroalloys, porcelain and faience products, ceramic electrical insulators and other technical ceramics.
Since 2007 VAW, PJSC has been representing the interests of Carborundum Universal Limited (CUMI, India), on the market of the CIS countries. One of the activities of CUMI is production of wear-resistant ceramics to protect equipment and units used in the mining, cement and steel-making industries against wear and abrasion. Wide range of products from ceramic tiles to fittings, pipes, pneumatic pipeline as well as slide gate plate for steel ladle represent this production division.
