NLMK-Kaluga Produces 6-Millionth Ton of Steel

NLMK-Kaluga a new generation steel mill (part of Long Products Russia division, NLMK Group) produced 6 millionth ton of steel.  

NLMK-Kaluga was commissioned in July 2013. Due to efficient organization of production and on-going improvement of technological processes, within a short time the mill reached its design capacity offering new types of products to its customers. Due to implementation of innovative technologies and managing solutions the mill shows positive dynamics of productivity and cost saving.

High-quality steel is used at the mill to produce some 20 size-types of long products, structural steels and square billets.

Due to its high-tech equipment, the production program of the mill includes a wide range of premium steel grades long products for the construction industry.  Commissioning of NLMK-Kaluga reduced shortage in long products in the Central Region of Russia supplying the construction industry with high-quality steel products. The annual design capacity of the mill accounts for 12.5 M sqm of monolithic and brick-monolithic buildings and 19.5 M sqm of panel buildings.
