Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant Ups Beam Sales to Wagon Builders
Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (CHMK, part of Mechel Group) has shipped a total of over eight thousand tonnes of Z-beams this year. The beams were sold to leading wagonbuilders of Russia and Belarus.
Z-beams are used to make center girders for wagon cars and gondola cars.
Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant mastered production of Z-beam in January 2018. The beams are made of two heavy-duty steels which guarantee stress resistance. High geometrical precision is ensured by the universal rolling mill which uses state-of-the-art rolling, leveling, processing and quality control technologies. The products are compliant with Russia’s GOST standards.
“60% of all cargo in our country is shipped by rail. At the same time, today we see a shortage of railcars and gondola cars, and the need to upgrade the railcar fleet is quite urgent. As such, we plan to expand our presence in this new market for us,“ Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant PAO’s Sales Director Vadim Shalygin noted.
Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant welcomes its friends and partners to visit Mechel Group stand at Metal-Expo’2019, the 25th Jubilee International Industrial Exhibition, November 12-15, Hall 75, VDNHa, Moscow, Russia.
