Nucor Contracts Danieli for Water Treatment Systems

Danieli, a Metal-Expo regular exhibitor, already is the primary technology supplier on the projects, which will be based on its MI.DA technology. The technology allows steel to be melted, cast and rolled into bar in a single, uninterrupted step.

Danieli said the water treatment systems will incorporate its zero-scale pit design, which allows for a much smaller settling pit than in conventional setups. Danieli said the technology will lop 900 cubic meters’ worth of civil construction costs off each project.

The plants also will make use of Danieli’s DanFilter™ units, which will ensure high-quality water circulation, it said.

“The selected technologies comply with Nucor’s request for minimized civil construction cost and time, easy and fast erection, reliable and flexible operations, and high-level process control,” the company said.
