UiPath Highly Appreciates MMK’s Robotization of Business Processes
The Center of Competence RPA and Innovation of MMK-Informservice received an award from UiPath for the largest project on RPA robotics among production enterprises in Russia. MMK is one of the world's largest steel producers and a leading Russian metals company, a Metal-Expo regular exhibitor.
Director for Russian Sales at UiPath Artem Vinogradov presented awards to the Director of MMK-Informservice Vadim Feoktistov and the head of the Center of Competence RPA and Innovation of MMK-Informservice Mikhail Verisov during his visit to MMK.
"Of course, the Center of Competence RPA and Innovation of MMK Group has chosen the right direction for development and has shown its effectiveness in practice through the implementation of one of the largest programmes for robotization of business processes among industrial companies," said Artem Vinogradov. In addition, he noted the high level of efficiency of UiPath software use at MMK Group and the professionalism of the staff at the Center of Competence RPA and Innovation.
The main activity of the Center of Competence RPA and Innovation of MMK-Informservice is to increase the efficiency of business processes through the use of RPA robotic process automation technology. This work began in 2018 and has affected the Company’s finance and economics, accounting, supply, logistics and personel. There are plans for these technologies to be used in all MMK divisions.
Today, there are dozens of software robots in industrial operation that help employees keep records, pay for raw materials, electronically process sick leave, place orders for employment record books, analyse transport use, keep records of labour productivity, collect and systematise data from various sources, reconcile various documents, generate reports and much more. All the new robots have become efficient digital assistants that have freed people from routine operations. As such, people are more productive and their working conditions are more comfortable.
Also, work is underway to expand the functionality of RPA to include artificial intelligence technologies, machine learning and natural language recognition methods. At the moment, together with the commercial directorate, a pilot project is already being implemented which will use machine learning and artificial intelligence to identify factors affecting the cost of certain types of raw materials.
"Our experience in the use of RPA technology in the framework of the Industry 4.0 strategic initiative allows us to characterise this technology as a highly effective tool for the digitalisation of the enterprise," said Vadim Feoktistov, Director of MMK-Informservice.
According to Mikhail Veresov, the Center plans to continuously increase the number of software robots. A chatbot has been developed to select processes suitable for robotics and is currently being tested, allowing any employee of MMK Group to send a request for the introduction of robotics into their division.
According to international analytical agencies Gartner and Forester, in 2019 UiPath was recognised as the market leader in RPA solutions. According to Forbes, the company ranks 3rd in the software ranking 'the Forbes Cloud 100'. In June 2019, MMK-Informservice and UiPath signed a general partnership agreement.
