Metalloinvest Ural Steel Supplies Plate for Udokan Project
Metalloinvest’s Novotroitsk-based Ural Steel, a Metal-Expo regular exhibitor, has produced rolled plate for the steel structures required for the construction of a beneficiation plant at the Udokan copper deposit. The construction of the Udokan Mining and Metallurgical Plant and the development of the deposit will be completed by Baikal Mining Company. More than 11 thousand tonnes of heavy plate of steel grades C255, C245, C345, C355, C390, C440 have been delivered to the Chelyabinsk and Nizhny Tagil Steel Structure Plants, Belenergomash-BZEM, as well as to the enterprises of Soyuzlegkonstruktsiya - Kulebaki Steel Structure Plant and Shadrinsk Steel Frame Plant. Ural Steel has longstanding relationships with each of these producers. The metal constructions produced at these plants will be transported to the north of the Transbaikal region for the construction of facilities of the future Udokan Mining and Metallurgical Plant.

Ural Steel’s rolled plate from construction steel grades was used in the construction of skyscrapers of the Moscow City business centre and Lakhta Center in St. Petersburg, the Ekaterinburg-Expo exhibition centre, the terminal at Vnukovo Airport, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow, the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University, Okhotny Ryad shopping centre in Moscow, stadiums for the 2018 World Cup and Olympic facilities in Sochi.
