Mechel Beloretsk to Supply Ropes to EVRAZ Kachkanar Mining

Mechel Group’s Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant has signed a contract with EVRAZ Kachkanar Mining and Processing Plant JSC,  a Metal-Expo regular exhibitor, for the supply of ropes in polymer. They will be installed on mining excavators. Under the contract, BMK will supply the mining enterprise with steel six-strand excavator ropes with a diameter of 45.5 mm with a polymer coating on the core and the rope as a whole.

The polymer coating provides the ropes with increased service life and protection against aggressive media. In addition, it prevents internal breaks in the wire and eliminates contact between the strands of the rope and the metal core. It also allows to reduce wear not only of the product itself, but also of expensive parts of the excavator (blocks and pulleys), reduce equipment downtime and the cost of its operation and repair.
