MMK Launches Machine Vision System in the Coke Shop

The system for automatic recording of toxic coke gas emissions combines a software unit and more than 30 video cameras installed on the coke oven battery and in its immediate vicinity and capable of “seeing” many times better than the human eye at MMK. The neural network makes it possible to detect any violations online and around the clock without human intervention.

All the collected information is registered in a database, where its statistical processing is carried out, on the basis of which a number of additional conclusions can be drawn: about the wear of the doors of the coke oven battery, the need for their repair or replacement, the efficiency of the maintenance staff.

The main purpose of the system is to improve the environmental situation both at MMK's industrial site and in Magnitogorsk as a whole, as well as to improve the safety of production processes.
