Steel Makers to Launch Serious Program on Increasing of Metal and Steel Consumption in Construction
A session of Organizing Committee of MetallStroyForum’2009 International Exhibition for Steel Products and Structures for Construction (March 18-21, 2009, Pavilion Russia) was held in Moscow on December 4.
The Organizing Committee consisted of members of Russian Association of Builders, TsNII MSK, Institute of Steel Structures Engineering, The All-Russia Union of Metal Builders, International Metallurgists’ Union, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Metallurgmash, Russian Union of Metal Exporters, Russian Union of Metal and Steel Suppliers and other unions for builders and steel makers.
Up to 30% of exhibitors of Metal-Expo International Industrial Exhibition (about 200 companies) are suppliers of metal and steel products in the construction market. The ferrous and the major part of the non-ferrous industries are construction oriented for construction consumes up to 40% of the total metal and steel products output.
Unfortunately today construction industry is facing a serious recession and in spring competition among exhibition for construction will rise. However, the Organizing Committee is positively sure that difficulties will pass and MetallStroyForum’2009 at the All-Russia Exhibition Center will tale a strong position among the already existing exhibitions for construction focusing on promotion of application of new types of metal and steel products in construction.
Steel makers in their turn are interested in establishing strong contacts with builders to modernize and expand production of metal and steel structures for construction to meet the needs of their business partners. That’s why the decision to hold a separate forum for builders and their partners producing and supplying metal and steel production has been made.
On March 18 -21, 2009 in the new hall Russia the exhibition will show the whole range of metal and steel products for construction including long products and flats, round and shaped tubes, metal and steel products and structures of sheets and plates (roofing and decking systems, closed profiles, welded beams, corrugated beams, bent shapes etc,) quickly assembling buildings based on steel structures, aluminium rolled products, profiles and steel structures, fasteners, wires, electrodes, equipment and technologies for steel structures manufacture and assembling, steel sr5euctures welding and joining, corrosion and fire protection of steel structures, in other words everything which is now widely used in construction. More and more international companies show interest in the Russian construction market as place to promote their most up to date technologies.
The future of construction in many aspects is related to application of light steel structures and they are in demand now, noted Mr. E. Airumyan, Institute of Steel Structures Engineering. Exhibitors and visitors will have an opportunity to discuss the most crucial matters at Light Steel Structures as Efficient Trent in Development of Russian Construction Industry and Aluminium in Architecture and Building, International Conferences.
MetallStroyForum will also host such traditional annual international conferences for construction industry as Galvanized and Painted Rolled Products: Trends in Production and Consumption’2009 and Rebar Steels Market: Trends in Production and Consumption’2009.
Mr. S. Afonin, President of Russian Union of Metal Suppliers noted that construction was the biggest metal and steel consuming industry and it could not be compared to any other industry in amounts of consumption of metal and steel products in the domestic market.
Mr. V. Polkin, Zinc Development Center noted that MetallStroyForum would be interesting to those companies engaged in building of infrastructure such as roads, railways, power lines etc, in other words companies consuming of metal and steel rolled products.
Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the most well-known and significant business-union promised to support the forum through its Committee for Construction. The forum will focus efforts of steel producers, steel service centers and steel structures producers on meeting the needs of industrial and civil construction.
