The third day of Metal-Expo-2024 was ‘on the cutting edge of problems’
On 31 October Metal-Expo continued with the 23rd Scientific and Technical Conference "New Advanced Materials, Equipment and Technologies for Their Production" (the abstracts of which will be posted here tomorrow morning) and the conference "New Trends in the Rational Use of Secondary Resources and Environmental Problems". There was a round table of suppliers and consumers of raw materials and rolled non-ferrous metals, and two conferences on steel construction issues. The Russian Steel Association and manufacturers of refractory products once again held a closed-door meeting to discuss current issues in the development of the refractory industry in the Russian Federation. The less experienced "Business Russia" - in open mode.
The third day of the Metallurgical Forum was attended by 9,100 visitors - specialists from key industries - consumers of metal products.
The busy day ended with the ceremony of awarding gold and silver medals of the Metal-Expo exhibition to enterprises, companies, institutes for the introduction of new types of products and technologies - perhaps the most important ceremony of the Metallurgical Forum, because the medals are awarded by those who know something about it, i.e. for business and for the cause, and then they are kept for a long time in the windows of the company museums, forming the real glory and technological progress with the potential of their owners.
On the final day of the forum, 1 November, there will be a roundtable discussion on the marketing services of metallurgical and metal trading companies. The event will feature contributions from leading metallurgical analysts and marketers, as well as the announcement of the winners of the 'Young Scientists' competition and the 'Best Internet project of 2023 among metallurgical and metal trading companies of Russia and CIS countries' competition.
Please be advised that the corridors will be free. Many people are under the impression that Metal-Expo lasts for three days due to a lack of awareness and understanding. I must correct you – it is, in fact, four days. The fourth day is the optimal time to gain a comprehensive understanding of the preceding three days' events. Comprehension is the key to success in any event, allowing participants to understand how the world has changed over the previous three days, years, or even decades.
The Congress and Exhibition Forum has repeatedly demonstrated its effectiveness over these three days and decades through open dialogue. However, to fully engage in this dialogue, I would still need to learn Chinese.
