Exhibition Industry as Means to Overcome Financial Crisis

World Financial Crisis: Challenges and Opportunities for Russian Exhibition Industry, round table endorsed by Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs was held on April 17 during Russian Business Week at the All-Russia Exhibition Center Fairgrounds. Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Russian Union of Exhibition and Fairs, Russian exhibition and congress centers etc. participated in the forum.

S. Alekseev, Chairman of Committee for Exhibition Industry, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, I. Malakhov, Director general, All-Russia Exhibition Center, I. Nikolaev, Professor, Higher School of Economics, V. Barulin, Director of Nizhny Novgorod Fair etc. spoke at the round table. The participants of the round table pointed out an important role of the exhibition industry under the condition of the financial crisis. Participants of the exhibition industry should strengthen coordination in order to increase efficiency of participation of Russian companies in national and international projects.

Romanov, President of Russian Union of Metal and Steel Suppliers, Co-Chairman of Organizing Committee of Metal-Expo, International Industrial Exhibition spoke on Some Peculiarities of Organization and Holding of Industrial Exhibitions. The day before A. Romanov had been appointed Deputy Chairman of Committee for Exhibitions and Congresses, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
